In preferences I can't see the switch for debugging.

You need to install the "Logger" extension, and turn on the debugger there.

Im currently testing xoops 2.6 using this checkout url

http://svn.code.sf.net/p/xoops/svn/XoopsCore/branches/2.6.x/2.6.0/htdocs/

1. trying to install xoops 2.6 but i getting stuck in module and in extension installation wizard

i received this message

Fatal error: Call to a member function getByModule() on a non-object in D:\xampp\htdocs\26\modules\system\class\module.php on line 699

hitting backbutton..clicking next twice finally my installation is finished

Im using

PHP Version 5.3.1
mySQL Version 5.1.41
Server API apache2handler
OS WINNT
safe_mode Off
register_globals Off
magic_quotes_gpc Off
allow_url_fopen On
fsockopen On
post_max_size 128M
max_input_time 60
output_buffering
max_execution_time 60
memory_limit 128M
file_uploads On
upload_max_filesize 128M

2. can we get the my system overview back like in xoops 255 ? it is a useful feature

3. in edituser.php the text field for password is too long

Im using firefox 18.0

4. in module admin modules/system/admin.php?fct=modulesadmin when we click the manage menu button it will direct to

modules/system/admin.php?fct=blocksadmin&op=edit&bid=5

site info block

6. i think the the default color for the jGrowl redirect notification should be change to dark color (gray dark as used in the xoops 2.6 default theme/admin theme) with white background instead of now light green background with blue text

Keep up the good work

Really Happy with so much progress finally

hello,

You must go to the menu:

preferences / extensions / logger

You can activate "logger" here

Re: XOOPS 2.6.0 Alpha 1 Testing

Using Xampp 1.8.1 which is...
PHP = 5.4.7
and
MySQL = 5.5.27
I have noticed two main issues with 2.6.

With the install program as it is if the lib and data directories are not available it will error stop the program instead of just stating it can't find them on the page.
If I have the files in the main directory and where I want to put them it won't stop and I can change them on the page. Looks to simply be an error trapping issue or not checking for the existence of the file.

The other issue may be something known but should be considered...
The new admin GUI has lots of good ideas but is very kludgy in how it works.

With the extensions for instance.. 3 of them do nothing when you click on them from the control panel. PDF, QRCode and Logger.
PDF has no options or menus so it should not be listed in the control panel as a selectable icon IMHO.
QRCode and Logger should go to their "preferences" screen.

After having played with the current 2.6 I can see it is headed in the right direction but it definitely needs some work before it should be beta. Will go back to the "trabis" thread for that discussion...

Make sure you have the latest SVN. I did not have any errors with the 10599 revision.
