I'm looking for a module to log in to Xoops with Facebook or Twitter account.

I found these articles:

https://xoops.org/modules/news/article.php?storyid=3998
https://xoops.org/modules/news/article.php?storyid=5161

but the links are broken ...

I've uploaded the "fbconnect" module to Files on SourceForge.

You can try to download it in few minutes from this link

Re: Facebook/Twitter login for Xoops

Although there were people having problems getting it to work on one of those threads I was able to get it to work on my 2.4.5 system earlier this year. However it is buggy and needs some work to make it work smoothly.

The main login screen had some major html type issues and when you do log in it doesn't really put you in as a user. It allows you access to the system as a registered user and when someone looks at your profile it does seem to fill in most of the profile for you but it didn't appear to be saved on the xoops system or in any other way connect your facebook account to your xoops account. I didn't look too deeply into it but on my system when you would look at the current users it would list as the facebook user number and I didn't see that number when doing a user search in the database at a later time.

So it did not appear to really be THAT useful of a module to me as is and the information in the instructions is dated so things with facebook are not 100% accurate so you need to play with it a little bit until you understand what will work.

Personally I thought it was a decent start but needed some work to make it work right for a normal xoops system.

Aitor make some minor changes to put the visitor as a xoops member but his username is the facebook code of user.

I think that is a good begining for other developer to complete the module. You can download here
