XOOPS Basic Module Pack - Beta 1: ready for testing & feedback

As you can see from this News article, the XOOPS Basic Module Pack - Beta 1 is ready for testing & feedback

When testing, please focus on two areas:

- regular bugs
- user experience (is the new GUI more user friendly? How can we improve it?)

Thanks for this initiative Mamba,

I will test this pack over the weekend.

I think we should add few widely used modules on the pack (either in the main pack or create a separate packs as "optional Bolt on" with

Site map
Tag cloud
TDMDownload
Module for Product desplay (as slide show)


Especially for intranet/company pack, it will be worth to add the following:

Meeting room booking system (MRBS)
Ticket System Module (OSTicket)

xSiteMap and TDMDownloads will be added, Tag is already in the pack.

A "product display" module will be probably better located in a "eCommerce Pack".

Regarding "Company Pack", Meeting room booking system (MRBS) could be a good addition.

Ticket System Module (OSTicket) seems to be nice, but unfortunately Alfred has never released his port. I'll send him an email and ask about his plans, otherwise we can use the xHelp module.

Thanks Mamba,

I am interested to include the MRBS and OSticket as xoops module. I am planning to use them for one of friends intranet. unfortunately I dont know where to start.

I will wait for the update from our experts.

Hi Mamba,

found this fatal error in module news

Fatal error: Class 'ModuleAdmin' not found in /home/xxxxxxxx/public_html/modules/news/admin/index.php on line 1554


Any ideas???/

I did upload that folder in Frameworks. I followed and uploaded all modules in this pack.

also when trying to upgrade the module this error comes up

Error : Smarty error: [in db:news_block_top.html line 915]: syntax error: unidentified token '#039;counter'' (Smarty_Compiler.class.php, line 1410)


@Mamba what about Publisher please. I think this should be next!!!!

I've updated the Basic Module Pack's zip file, you can download it again.

I see some problems in the blocks, I'll look into it.
For the time being, don't use blocks in News!

I am focusing right now only on modules that are "orphaned" and are not actively maintained. It would be up to Trabis (the author of Publisher) to make the changes or to agree that we should do it.

I see some problems in the blocks, I'll look into it.

I think, I fixed it now. Please download News from SourceForge SVN and let me know if the blocks work for you now.
