sess_data should be readable as eg:

And others are readable, like this:

The only readable lines in it right now are from protector.

I just logged in and my IP was not recorded.

This site was upgraded from the 2.2 side of things in case that could matter.

Otherwise, I am at a loss. Well, I was at a loss before, but now I don't even know what information to offer to an expert to assist me.

Seems there is some strange problem with your sessions.
They should all be readable as with that protector_last_ip
I suppose that other admin forms, as eg preferences, are also not working?

Maybe contact your hoster once about this session problem.

Did you do the file check (see release notes) already?

I did the file check and it came up as expected for an upgrade. I've learned that lesson the hard way!

The rest of the site works just fine with the exception of the marquee module which stops scrolling after one pass.

There were no files missing.

I get these alerts now:
/class/mail/phpmailer/codeworxtech.html content invalid
./class/mail/phpmailer/language/phpmailer.lang-fo.php content invalid
./class/xoopseditor/tinymce/tinymce/jscripts/themes/advanced/langs/sq.js content invalid
./include/license.php content invalid

Install, XOOPS Library and Data of course are not there.

./modules/profile/language/english/main.php content invalid
./modules/system/class/gui/oxygen/language/bulgarian/admin.php content invalid
./modules/system/class/gui/oxygen/language/nederlands/admin.php content invalid
./modules/system/class/gui/oxygen/language/portuguesebr/admin.php content invalid
./modules/system/language/english/blocks.php content invalid

These make sense to me as I have made some changes to the language files.

Problem persists.

Also the language files may disturb the system. Replace them temporary with the originals.
license.php is OK to differ, but the others of the mailer should also match.

Any advance on the session settings and functioning?

I find that even the new files from the package come back as invalid in the following cases:

I downloaded a new package, unzipped those files and found the same thing again.

Can you suggest the questions I should raise with the host? Another subsite under the same account, dev.mysite.ca is operating just fine, so I don't know that it is on that end. Of course maybe they are on separate servers, I have no idea about that.
