Can I Merge User Accounts

I have two accounts on the site; a account that is a registered user and one that is Admin.

Is it possible to transfer all postings from one account to another and then have each mod update and reflect the new posting count?

Also would I do this by modifying my sql file, if so what precautions would be necessary?

You are probably best trying this on a local copy first in xampp or whatever.

take a backup of DB before you start, then have a go updating the one uid to the one you wish to merge with site wide accross the tables

Then see the end result if, satisfied you can repeat on the actual site.

WARNING: I wouldn't follow that advice on the website, unless you want to lose a lot of user information.

To do this correctly you will have to do a lot more than that... there will be many other modules that use a 'User ID' and if you follow this advice they may not match up afterwards.

Oh Lord! Thanks Katz. I didn't try it as yet. I'll just leave it alone for now.

What I need wordpress has it. If I delete a user in wordpress it will ask, "who do you wish to assign the posts to." Then I delete the user and all their postings are automatically transfered to the user I selected.

It would be nice to have this implemented in future updates of xoops.
