I tried myword and the smartsection migration utility

It only imported 129 categories, instead of 130

and only 617 articles, out of 9,423 articles
:(

And on the user side if you try to view anything you get a 404 error

how can I adjust time 30 second time limit?
Edit the maximum_execution_time (or max_input_time) in your php.ini (restart!).

Yeah, it's at 720 seconds and still doesn't import all

I think I'll have to attempt the hack Trabis talked about

I am also using Publisher, worked fine for some time but now if I want to edit any previous article and then submit the 'edit article' returns a blank white screen of death and of course the article is not updated. At the moment I can create new articles.

I am very worried because I think its a database issue here and I am terrified that I might face more problems as the site gets bigger.

It was working for a couple of months.......xoops 2.4.4 and php5

any idea whats best to do? I did uninstall the module and installed it again but with the same error that once an article is updated it comes the blank screen.

If you have any debug messages, Trabis may be able to help.

You might also want to check that your host hasn't upgraded something without telling you.

my host has not change anything as I use Publisher in other websites and they work fine.

Well, problem was memory exhaustion due to many images and usage of getObjects() without limit. Xoops image class does not extend xoopsPersitableObjectHandler and therefor I could not use the getAll() method to retrieve just the 2 fields I wanted as an array. I had to hardcode a query for that. Changes were committed to trunk. Thank you for reporting this bug and let me debug it on your site. Btw, great site you have (wish Portugal luck, we will need it)!

Well, I've got almost 10,000 articles, and unfortunately another 13,000 to import from WRAPS.

With these continual problems, I've come to realize that Xoops just can't handle a site as big as mine.

And I haven't got a clue how to hack Publisher to try and see if it gets rid of the problems. :(

Unfortunately, I'll have to build a new site with Joomla

I don't know what format the articles take, but could CBB perhaps be used to present those articles?

It can be categorised, it supports images, has a fast advanced search facility and is clearly capable of handling large volumes of posts. I have no idea of the total, but there are 100,000 + XO members so I would imagine it is over 23,000 (your target item count).

Import would need to be direct via SQL, but that is going to be a task no matter what you use.

I have seen forum software used for recipe sites before.
