Same old problems.

The module crashes and all my screens go blank, including the index page.

So I have to backup the sql, extract the smartsection tables and data, uninstall, reinstall, delete the tables from the sql, import the tables from the backup sql.

Then I have to reset all the permissions as well as reset all the permissions in all 130 sub categories.

And what happens? After I do 10 or 15 read permissions it dumps again, and again, and again.

I've got over 10,000 entries in smartsection and 3 years work invested int it :(

I'm finding a module that works!

Can someone suggest another module?
Something with categories, etc?

Maybe Publisher from Trabis.

Doesn't work. I tried it :(

And Underdog from impress blocked me from their forums. They have been no help at all with trying to fix the problems with their module

Do you have the same problem on your localhost with your basic Wamp install.

Turn on your debugger in your Xoops Preferences

Tell the following information:
Xoops Version
PHP Version
MySQL Version
Is the site hosted on Windows or Linux
Apache Version (if hosted on Linux)

And yes, maybe publisher will solve the problems for you, but find out why you get blank pages.
Most of the time, the debug information will help you with that.

I gave you all that information many times in your own forums Underdog.

And at the moment I'm not running it on my localhost

Don't be angry, SmartSection is a nice module. Yes, there is some bugs, but what the hell.

Try SmartSection 2.15 from Wishcraft, or the best solution to backup the whole system on local server and test it in nice and no stress enviroment.

I've use smartsection 2.13, 2.14 and wishcrafts 2.15 (which is what is installed now)

They all had the same problem

And the problem with publisher is that it won't import subcategories, and unfortunately there are only 3 categories on my site, but 130 subcategories. I hope that Trabis fixes that soon, but as of now, he hasn't.

Yes, I agree smartsection is a nice module, and it does everything I want WHEN IT WORKS!!!!

Unfortunately, The bugs crash my site and frankly, there has been no help from impress' forums

I dunno about subcategories. I'm running one site with ss 2.14 with 50 categories, and every of it has 7-15 subcats. It's fine for now.

So frankly,
What does the debug information say?
Do you still have PHP version 5.3 on that server?
Is it still Xoops 2.4.4?
Do you still have the files replaced with older files as in your last problem.
More information and maybe some people can help you.
