transferring a group's setting to a new one

In XOOPS I know you can establish another group and assign certain permissions. But I would simply "transfer" the setting of one group to a new one that I am creating? Is that possible?

IMHO no, but interesting question. I think you must set the option manually. The problem is, if you change something in one group, you have to clone and clone and clone, i mean in this case after the new group exist, its easier to set the options manually.

Well, permissions acomulate, you can set a user to several groups. I don't check same boxes for diferent groups that often. If 10 groups share 50 items permissions and difer in only one or 2, you could merge those 50 items into a new group.
User 1 is member of paid group and gold group
User 2 is member of paid group and silver group
