I dont want my forum newbb topics listed in search engine

is this possible ?

newbb 3.08/xoops 2.4.3

all search engine

i rephrase

i don't want modules/newbb with all the topics etc to appear in search engine

i made a search...i found something aboyt robots.txt..

will it work if i put modules/newbb there ?

Add this to robots.txt
User-agent: *
Disallow: /modules/newbb/

It takes some time before robot.txt changes reflect on the search results. Some engines behave also better than others.
Which engine are you talking about?

The example is for: XOOPS root = web root.

If you want to get rid of engines on the forum, place an .htaccess file in /modules/newbb/ and block their referer or IP range. Beware, some drastic measures can harm your sites' page rank.
