Problems with install

I uploaded the htdocs folder and wanted to start installation but already at the first step I get errors.

XOOPS Version: 2.4.2
PHP Version: 4.4.3-dev
MySQL Version: 5.0.77n
Web Server Software (Apache/IIS/Other): Apache/ProXad
Operating System: Linux php17-g5.priv.free.fr

Kwijt, Welcome on the XOOPS Forum!

I believe for Free.fr, you need to enable the sessions for PHP by creating a file or directory.
Search for info on that in the forum of frxoops.org

Look also for a way for having PHP 5+. Many modules are no longer compatible with PHP version 4 and XOOPS itself may also have some hickups on PHP 4.
