Multilingual, multigroup users, multi category, WYSIWYG editor ?

I'm new to Xoops. I have a website that must be redesign. The new website must meet these criterias :

- multilingual content
- multigroup users (permissions to content is depent on this group)
- multicategory content ( 1 article can be put in 2 categories )
- has WYSIWYG editor like TinyMCE or FCKeditor

Does XOOPS has all these ?

Welcome greentara,

- WYSIWYG: Yes, XOOPS comes with a variety of editors, including the ones you mention

- User Group Permissions: Yes, XOOPS comes with a group based permission system

- Multi Category Content: Depends on the module. Most have a strict hierarchy, but I think the AMS module can do this for you. Maybe someone else has some tips?

- Multi Language Content: XOOPS as a platform supports multi language for variables etc. However, so far I haven't found any module which natively supports multi language for the actual contents, e.g. in articles. I know that a lot of XOOPS sites has this though, so maybe someone else here can explain how it is achieved?

Multilanguage can be done with the xLanguage module or the EMLH hack. These allow the content to be edited with tags as eg
[en]English content[/en][de]Inhalt[/de]

Article does that. Please note - this is RC, so there are still some bugs there. And the GUI is the most user-friendly, but it does the job.

Hi All,

Thanks for your information. The problem about multi group is like this :

I want to create groupA , groupB, groupC, groupD etc .. and assign user to these groups.
User in GroupA can ONLY has access to create, read, edit, delete his content, but without publish ability.
User in GroupB can read,add,edit,delete & PUBLISH the content of userA.
User in GroupC can do like user in GroupA.
User in GroupD can edit,create,delete the content of GroupA + GroupC.

Is it possible ? I can not make it work in Xoops. Any tips ?

I don't know for Article, but with News you can by using the approuval permission. So users can submit News and then another group has to approuve for getting it published.
