is it possible to enable users to change the appearance of their profile?

hi, so the question is if it's possible to enable users to change the theme of their profile page that would be visible to other users visiting his/her profile page

Add some user profile variables eg background colour: red green blue.
With these variables enable/select some CSS styling in the template of the profile, that produce the effect.
