"Remember me" when logging in

Hi,

I use XOOPS 2.2.3 and I don't plan moving to 2.3 for some reasons. I wonder if it is possible to switch "Remember me" option when loggin in without upgrading the whole system.

I found a hack by gijoe on xoops.peak to autologin but it doesn't work, Anybody had any experience using it?

well it doesn't remember me. I login checking that remember me box. then i close the browser and open it again. and im logged out. maybe it's not for the whole XOOPS 2.2 branch

What browser are you using and what is its setting for cookies?

tried both ie and ff. cookies are on tested with xoops.org

In FF, your cookie settings can vary per site (See eg menu - tools - page info - permissions and menu - tools - page info - security - view cookies).
So, tested with XOOPS.org means nothing.

i turned custom sessions on and now it works. can anybody tell me what custom session is and how does this affect the security now
