after the core team released XOOPS 2.3 final i do a bit of practice on it first to keep my hand in and second because i could not lose "loginname" in my old 2.2 website.

so for those very few xoops2.2 users:
now you can keep this one feature in your xoops2.3 after upgrade.

just pay attention there is not any guarantee by using this hack.
i just test it in my site and im not a skilled programmer. USE IT WITH YOUR OWN RISK.

the issue is being working on (check the svn), and will be available in the next 2.3x release.

What is the status on the displayname when upgrading from XOOPS 2.2.4 to 2.3.x? If the displayname is implemented, I have 2 sites ready to upgrade from 2.2.4. I've tried to find info on Sourceforge and it appears to be noted as a bug but I don't see it listed as fixed in the change log (though I may have missed it). Would appreciate any help/info on this issue!

This feature was not implemented because it requires database changes. This is still on pending status and it will not be on next XOOPS release.
