How can i change "modules" to something and some of module name?

i mean: www.mysite.com/modules/edito to-> www.mysite.com/newword/newmodulename

i am using 2.3.3

trabis, it's looking like for only module name, i mean about changing "modules" to a new word ..

It removes "modules" word and allow to rename module name to whatever you want. Look here for example:

I have had a couple of challenges renaming modules folder and the modules themselves. this looks like a neat solution, but i aint sure about how i am supposed to use the download. its in French and i dont understand french. would appreciate some kinda interpretation or english documentation if you can send me one

Mark Boyden has a superb tutorial on his site http://mark.boyden.name/smartsection.item.82/xoRewriteModule-xoops-short-URL-SEO-rewrite.html it is very easy to follow.

I have just test the rewrite plugin on my local machine on wamp, it works and absolute treat, I dont know why I did not notice this plugin before its superb and along with mark boydens tutorial it is very easy to implement.

Thankyou very much to dugris for the plugin and Mark Boyden for the excellent tutorial.

i read two documentations and thanks for all people trying to help but i have to ask
Where must i put "xoRewriteModule.ini.php" file and "xoRewriteHtaccess.ini.php" file?
can somebody explain it step to step ?
