high bandwidth use

Hi,

I suddenly got a high, high bandwidth use. My webhoster nullrouted my domain because he thinks that it is a DDOS attack.

I am using XOOPS 2.0.18 on a server with Centos 5 and DirectAdmin installed. I also ran RKHunter and Clamav, but I did not find anything. I cannot find anything unussual in my server logs.

Questions:
- I´ve XOOPS protector installed. Can my server still be victim of a DDOS attack?
- What should I do?

Many thanks in advance!

Since these attacks come from the outside, your site can always be a target.
Protector can prevent to some degree on the bad effects of it.
When there are such attacks, you would see it in the Protector log and in the Apache access and error logs.
To relieve XOOPS and increase the site's protection, add the bad IP's with their net in the site root .htaccess file.
