Error: Smarty error:...NewBB 2.0 version 2.02

Error: Smarty error: the $cache_dir '/xoops_data/caches/smarty_cache' does not exist, or is not a directory.

I have gotten loads of smarty errors & I'm not able to turn the cache on in any area of my site It brings it down
What would I have to do or what info would I need to post to get help on this issue?

Make the folder /xoops_data/caches/smarty_cache and give it write permissions.

Cool!! I was hoping it was that simple, worked like a charm


P.S. I think XOOPS can become addictive LOL

Yup, that is what XOOPS' addicted always say.
You just can't let it go now, get used to it.

If I am not mistaken write permissions would be 777

Yep - try that to start to get your site working. If you can, change it to 775 though

Should I replace the mainfile.php with mainfile.dist.php?
