Using DHTML to create links for images.

I have no idea what is going on but it appears there is some code in the background that is messing with any linked images.

Is there any purpose for this?

It seems to completely eliminate the ability to create images as links.

HTML still works but many modules only accept DHTML.

Are you talking of nesting the BBcode img tags in an Url tag (see this)?
What is your XOOPS version? What was entered in the editor and what was the html result (view source in navigator)?
