Wow! that truly is awesome.

Fantastic work!

Does anyone know Where this is at.

This new Profile module which was due around March, anyone know if this was launched and where to get it.
Do we have an idea of how users - and there content will merge or be moved to the new profile.

Seem to be somewhat in the dark about the direction.

As much as some say Yogurt is not a social Networking module.
The fact is the world does see it as XOOPS answer to Social Networking. A google search on social networking will bring up many examples of this.

example

The fact is that XOOPS lacks a social networking module, yogurt is poor. There are many open source scripts, i just don't understand why don't XOOPS developpers import them?

Lack of resources?

It's always question of time and resources. We are volunteers who do this in the free time.

I am sure if somebody offers to pay for a such conversion, there will be developers who will be willing to do it, because they would treat it just as another client engagement.

So for the time being, we'll have to wait for somebody to volunteer.

In the meantime, there is work being done in Germany on merging Yogurt with Profile, so this might be something very good. There are also some other developments in this direction, as mentioned before in this thread.

Yeah, yogurt is ectreamly poor. I like the idea with plugins for other modules this makes the module flexible. Maybe would be simpler to build a bridge to some existing open source social network module...

Yogurt is ok, there needs to be a front page,
there needs to be a way for Scrap to be date stamped.
better integration with the the core for custom fields.

After that is done the module would be very good.

I don't know why you say is very poor.

And no Yogurt does not need to be its own CMS.

I miss a text block with recent activities of my friends like Facebook has (who has made new friends, who has recently add a new picture or put a comment on a blackboard)

It is dificult to find the way to add a friend if you have no experience with module.

I miss an icon "add to friends" in XOOPS search members results.

Yes the module is OK for the begening, but without development the module is dead, nobody is listening our suggestions. It s been a long time since last version. As far as we have no alternative we have to keep running yogurt...

About search members link,
I make same changes on the /template/yogurt_navbar.html

1. IN ORDER TO APPEAR THE SEARCH IMAGE LINK. I ADD IN THE LINE 43 THE BELOW CODE TEXTS

<li <{if $section_name==$lang_search}>class="tabs-selected" <{/if}>> <a href="searchmembers.php?uid=<{$uid_owner}>"><span><img class="yogurt-nav-bar-icon" src="images/search2.gif" /><{$lang_search}></span></a></li>

2. This way the people will see immediately the search link at the top menu bar
3. I insert the a new image "search2.gif" on the images folder.
Resized Image

NOTE: I need discover the reason not appear the text in the bar , appear only went you click on the menu <{$lang_search}>
It a lither modification, but it important for the new users to find immediately the members.

Regards,
David Yanez

Please post here if you find any alternatives for Yogurt, that we can transfer existing yogurt members photos, videos, audio scraps etc. This I believe will be a difficult task, I currently have 500 members with profiles and my site is growing daily.

Xoops does need a social Networking module that is supported by xoops.
