Is there any modules around that grant access to users depending on how many points they have.

SO if a user has 100 points they can view the news

A user with 200 points can access certain forums.

A user with 300 points can access the download section

WFDownloads 3.2 has that ability, but i don't know of any other modules.

you can get it over at Smartfactory, but i'm not sure if it works with XOOPS 2.3.x

Nope dont work.

It needs to be like users groups but based on points earned rather than which group they are in.

I wonder if the ranking system can be ammended to suit this

another thing that might be useful for many webmasters is an abily for users to buy those points instead of getting 'em for posts submitted. XOOPS needs an ewallet kidnof a module module

should do.. in the preferences, set the limit for post count, then they can't upload.. can't remember if it also has for viewing though.. but either way, it's pretty darn easy to add the capability to any module, it's only 2 or 3 lines of code max..

This is why i want the service. I have been working with monetizing facebook applications and have completed a few of them now.

Within these I have implemented a virtual currency so that when users click on adverts they are rewarded with the virtual currency - in XOOPS case it will be user points or karma which grants them access to other areas of the sites.

Another thing i been working on is a poker game - i have it on iframe on www.uk-pool.com at present and I am looking to integrate it fully into xoops.

The poker game has tournaments, sit and go events tables of 10 players at a time. Again this is virtual currency and the karma system or points system will enable the users to increase their cash the more they contribute.
