Still not working :(
Is there a way to re-install just the Private messages and new user registration modules without messing up anything else? or is there a certain file that's responsible for doing the mailing out the "you've successfully registered" emails and Private messages that I can take a look at?

Do you have a mailbox associated with the domain of your site?
Is your webmail for it working?
Or are you using another mailbox form your adsl or cable ISP or a general one like yahoo and gmail?

If /modules/system/admin.php?fct=mailusers doesn't work to send email to eg the webmasters, then there is something wrong with the email settings in the admin sytem preferences /modules/system/admin.php?fct=preferences&op=showmod&mod=1&confcat_id=6 .

I get an email saying that "x has registered" but no email gets sent out to the registered person saying that they have successfully activated their account and that they're 100% registered.

I'm not using yahoo or any of those sorts of emails. I'm using the one from my doman: (eg: webmail.mydomain.com)

Well I finally got the Private Messages working after I had to uninstall the module and reinstall it.

I'm still having the issues with the registration, though. Is there a module that's in charge of this as well?

I've replaced all PHP files related to registration with the default files again and it's still doing the same thing -- takes me to the registration page instead of the page that says 'you have successfully activated your account' when I click the activation link that's sent to me. I'm still not getting one of those 'you've successfully activated your account' emails when you click the link, either. Is there a module I need to install/reinstall?

Did you use the file check (see release notes) to verify that your upload was done correct?

Is that the file check for the XOOPS module? or some other module?

Wow, that fixed the problem after I ran this. There were a lot of errors. Thank you so much!
