Out of interest what theme are you using?

On a local install the default theme works a lot better than another theme I have, although extgallery still seems to have some problems with the default theme, as in it doesn't do all it's meant to do!

I will post back if I find anything.

The batch-upload script has probably resulted in the uploaded image files being owned by the default user on your web server 'Apache'. Your user identity when you use FTP will be that of your user account, so you don't have the correct permissions to delete those files.

Unless you have shell access to your filespace - in which case you can use UNIX commands to change ownership of the files and delete them yourself - you'll need to ask your host to delete them.
A thread is for life. Not just for Christmas.

Right, this is a config hosting problem. After treatment photo are owned by Web server user. So if isn't the same as your FTP user you can't delete it. Contact your hosting admin to correct Web server conf.
