Tagging your philosopher module as low quality was not the best way to express. It says nothing about your other modules.
And it is not a question of the quality or the 'must have' calibre of that module or Flash modules in general.
What is at stake in my opinion is the quality of the News section of XOOPS.org and the question if the stream of some endless repeating articles is a true asset for it. (The same applies for the module and theme section!)
Publicising an article in the News section is not only information to the XOOPS world, but also a kind of promotion for the developer (and his website and bussiness). And when the added news value becomes marginal, the line between News and SPAM becomes thin.
As I remarked in a post before, there is very little news value in again a new language and it could be sufficient to add simply a comment to the News article when a new language emerges.
XOOPS modules are conceived to work with multiple languages. By means of the language directory, which supplies the translations, one and the same module can fit in universally. (One could say, that your philosopher module by lacking this standard feature, is indeed of a lesser quality.)
Other border line cases are module version announcements. Some developers are very active and repair bugs and/or implement new features (one by one) and make releases on a daily basis. Which of course is very excellent! But we can then ask ourselves the question, if such a minor release of a subversion is newsworthy enough to attract the worlds attention. Or can a comment to the original major release be sufficient?
And the same goes for the themes. Is every colour scheme of the same theme (now also in applebluedeepseagreen) worth of a separate article? For me, an added comment to the theme's release article, that a new colour scheme is available, will do.
I love to hear news about XOOPS and his developers, and the more, the better! But at the same time it should have some quality of interest and has also to be true News and not a copy paste of an earlier post.
The News section has to be open to all kinds of News about all kinds of XOOPS related things, if they are of importance for a large or small audience, or if they are light or heavy feature loaded or ...
But use it wisely!
For other uses, you have still the playground of your own website!
PS: The views expressed in my posts are my own!
Some are deliberatly exagerated for showing the dangers of the unwanted direction that it could lead into.
