For those who like to help test the latest version (or evaluate the current status) on your local(!) PC, you can download the tarball here. (Best is to use it as update to a working local 2.3.2b installation)

You may report your findings and problems in this thread.

the new installation process is cool..congrats to dugris &phpp

just my 2 cents...i think the step below should be made more clearer and easy to understand for XOOPS newbies

and i think needs a rewrite..
Quote:

5.If you need to install protector module,
Replace the file mainfile.dist.php in your XOOPS root directory with /extras/mainfile.dist.php.protector.

btw...what does "replace" mean here ?

do i have to delete "mainfile.dist.php" and copy mainfile.dist.php.protector. to root ?

when i do this i receive this error

Could not copy the distribution file to mainfile.php
my mainfile.php is writable

maybe this related....
https://xoops.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=67373&forum=64

when i leave mainfile.dist.php" and mainfile.dist.php.protector in root and make installation i also receive the same error

but when i didn't copy the mainfile.dist.php.protector to root and install as usual..i don't have any problem..xoops install successfully

does anyone have the same problem ?

Yes delete mainfile.dist.php and copy mainfile.dist.php.protector to the directory instead.
The rename mainfile.dist.php.protector to mainfile.dist.php
