I am having trouble with the install of XOOPS on Windows XP. I am running Apache on port 90, MySQL and Perl 5.2.4. I do not want to use mssql nor IIS. IIS is running on port 80. I have unpacked Xoops, and went to the site through the browser but never get the installation information. I have other applications that I have done in this manner.

Can someone please help me with this installation.

Thank you
LadyDee

I assume you are doing this on a local machine? And that you have copied the files of XOOPS to some subdirectory (eg xoops) of the htdocs folder of Apache?
Thenhttp://localhost:90/xoops/ should lead you to the install procedure.

You know XOOPS doesn't need Perl, because it runs on PHP?

Is your Apache server working with other files (eg a jpg image, that you place in its htdocs folder)?

This file has not to be copied to the webserver directory. Follow the installation notes meticulous. You have to copy the content(!) of the htdocs directory of the archive to the htdocs directory of Apache (or to a subdirectory of it).

I pointed to images and the logo.gif and it did not come up. I have other applications that are running.

Is there something I need to fix in my setup?

Thank you for your advise. I copied it to another directory that I know was working and it worked, so I have to look at how I have this one set up.

Thank you
