Can I disable PMS on per user or per group basis??

Sometimes we have members who abuse the PM system and we would like to revoke this privilege. How can I accomplish this?

In admin - users - groups uncheck PM in the module access rights category for that user group.

you can create a new group eg (banned) and put the trouble members in the group and block their permission to use pm

I tried that and set access to everything else but the group can't use the Forums either. Are they linked?

Which forum?
It is possible that the forum module uses notifications, which can be sent (by users choice) by PM.
But I do not expect, that this would prevent the use of the forum module.

I think I got it, I forgot to go back in and set the forum permissions for the group. I forgot I was taking them out of the Registered users group.
