I'm new to xoops. Installing XOOPS went ok but when I try to use the newbb module I get the following error when I want to create a new forum :
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: getinstance() in /xxxx/xxxxx/xxxx/xxxx/public_html/forum/Frameworks/textsanitizer/module.textsanitizer.php on line 214.

I'm using newbb version 3.08
system settings are :

XOOPS Versie: XOOPS 2.3.1
PHP Versie: 4.4.4
MySQL Versie: 4.1.21-standard-log
Server API Versie: apache
OS Versie: Linux
safe_mode:
register_globals:
magic_quotes_gpc:
allow_url_fopen:
fsockopen:
allow_call_time_pass_reference:
post_max_size: 8M
max_input_time: 60
output_buffering:
max_execution_time: 30
memory_limit: 64M
file_uploads:
upload_max_filesize: 2M

Does anyone know how I can solve this ?
Thanks for your support

Hi, welcome on the XOOPS forum!

It seems an old server to me, because it is still PHP 4 and MySQL 4, while nowadays version 5 is regular. But that is not the problem.

I assume you have installed XOOPS in the subdirectory forum of your domain. Can you verify that in your mainfile.php (located in /forum/) your XOOPS_URL and XOOPS_ROOT_PATH are both correct and ending on /forum ?

Did you set all the required directories to writable, as described in the instructions?

Is the file /forum/Frameworks/textsanitizer/module.textsanitizer.php present?

Did you verify that all files are present with checksum.php?

Hi Ghia,

Thank you very much for your help. Checking the files did the trick, the module files did overwrite the module.textsanitizer.php file. According to the checksum the file had an invalid content. When I replaced this with the original file it worked without the error.

Thanks
