I have recently moved a XOOPS community site to a new server.

The XOOPS version is 2.0 and the new server is running PHP 5 (the old server ran PHP 4).

Since the server move the normal User Login form on each page no longer works correctly. It directs the visitor to the "Thank you for logging in" page (user.php) but then them returns to the site not logged in.

Confusingly, at the end of each forum post there there is a FAST REPLY form using \modules\newbb\post.php which successfully logs users in.

I have tried repairing the sessions table but have not been able to resolve the problem.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Just 2.0? not 2.0.x.x?

I don't think php5 existed back then... could be your problem.

Sorry yes it is XOOPS version 2.0.18.1

Do you think it could be a compatibility issue with php5?

I agree php5 should not be a problem.

Has anyone experienced this before? >
Visitors log in, bounce through a Thank you for logging in page then return logged out to the site.

If anyone could point me in the right direction I would be massively grateful!

Thank you so much that has finally sorted it out!

I had looked at that topic before but it appeared to be a browser-specific problem that I wasn't having.
