i installed newbb forum and i dont know how to remove the highlighting from around the forum index


i know it has to do with css i dont know how to remove it your help is needed thank you

If you use Firefox, install the "Web Developer" extension, and then use the "View Style Information" under the CSS drop-down menu to find out which CSS entry is managing the color.

Even looking at the html source can reveal the class of the text parts and give a lead to what selector is to modify in the CSS file.

I think you're looking in the wrong place/wrong .css file. Look at the following files:

/modules/newbb/templates/newbb.css
/modules/newbb/templates/newbb_index.html

In newbb_index.html, line 166 is the start of the list of forums in the tables and it contains this code:


That tells you that you should be looking at an entry called #index_forum in newbb.css

My newbb.css contains this entry at line 57:



and these from lines 77 to 87:



These lines in newbb.css would be the best place to start - probably the first entry at line 57 is the place to look.
