You should contact the developer of xmovie, not yogurt.

Does this only happen when you have yogurt installed? I have x_movie installed on my site but don't have this problem. However, the x_movie that I use is one that I maintain. It also don't have yogurt installed so that might be a factor, or it might be because I don't have the link path starting from module/x_movie. I'm in the process of removing references to x_movie to make it easier to change the name. I'm also currently updated this module because of deprecated classes.

would you be willing to share your improvements with the community?

My version has been posted on various forms since last year. You can download it from here, http://www.optikool.com/modules/mydownloads/singlefile.php?cid=2&lid=4 how ever the version that's currently running on my site and the one that's for download are not the same. I'm currently modifying the one running on my site to meet standard.
