Can Oracle 10i be used for the XOOPS database ?

Not out of the box, but it is possible to write a database plugin for it.
You have to adapt one file /class/database/mysqldatabase.php to /class/database/oracledatabase.php by using the Oracle equivalents to the MySQL calls.
