Is it possible to use a direct html link to send a value to the profile search.php and have it return the result?

For example, I want a direct link to show any users with the Real Name John. Can I use a link something like ...modules/profile/search.php?name=john
(I know that doesn't work - but is there something similar that would?)

you must show in the html source which variables are defined in the formular. step by step you can build your url.
