I'm looking for some major help.

First off, I don't know if I should post this here or in the MOD Requests forum... so I'm sorry if it's in the wrong one!

I am currently re-building a website for a band.
I have no idea how to explain what kind of help I need. lol.

I am looking for some kind of way to make it so that all of the content can be RATED, like the way a photo is rated in the gallery module, and obviously commented on as well, and I need to be able to put the "top rated this" or "top rated that" in blocks on the main page like you would with the top rated images..

So like, "Top Rated Song", "Top Rated Album", and so forth.

Is there anyway I can make this work using xoops?
I am not a programmer so I have no idea how I could possibly
combine the content module with some of the options from the extgallery..

Am I making any sense? It's almost 3am for me and I can't sleep cuz I've been thinking about this mess I got myself in to. hahahaha.

i think news or smartsection module can do this

You can use the News module to post your articles - just because it's called "News" doesn't mean that you can't use it for something else

The News modules enables viewers to "rate" items and you can control (though the module's permissions system) who is allowed to "rate" articles.

I use SmartSection 2.13 and have just had a quick peek at the preferences - can't see anything anout "rating" articles there, but I'm probably wrong!

In News you can make categories as Albums and Songs. In the blocks you can use and clone the block 'random news' to display a top xx of best rated or most viewed in each category.

Another thing, does anyone know if XOOPS and invision power board(meaning the real one, not the ipb module) can be integrated(easily, hopefully. lol)?

Check it out in admin - blocks by using functions clone and edit for the block.
