Might be better to create a database and add a user to it before you attempt to install. On some systems permissions will not allow database creation with the installer.

Can you connect to it via the command line using the database name and user you created?

It's a 4 step process:
- create the database
- create a user
- associate the user with the database
- give the user the required rights
In eg cPanel are functions to accomplish this.

MySQL 5?

I had some problems with trying to setup on MySQL5. The default for the host was no longer "localhost", but "localhost:/tmp/mysql5.sock" on my setup. This was only for MySQL 5. Once I changed it, it was fine.

Hi,
With me the latest version is not allowing me to enter ip address of my database server on step 5/11. Is there any trick here I need to do. Earlier it was normal to enter IP address and complete the setup but this time it is not allowing me to do that. Any clue....thanks
