The basic dhtmlext.ph file need some hack to work,
I've made a small tutorial at this link

I think there should be a default editor selection drop down in system preferences somewhere in the new version of xoops! It's not that hard to implement and it will surely solve lots of problems for all of us.

Having a dropdown to select a default editor would be great but since some of the modules have default settings which can not be changed w.r.t automatic linebreaks and html enable/disable, it may create problems with such modules

most of the modules don't have that kind of settings! And most importantly the system module, blocks editing etc just use the dhtml editor wich doesnt allow image uploading etc! In extend the core should allow for such a configuration like selecting editors! Most of my clients dont know html and they'd like to change some blocks content, add images etc. The dhtml editor is not very helpfull for novices so i had to hack the system module! Wouldnt it be better if we had the choice to change the default editor? Module developers wouldnt need to make any changes to their code or add that kind of support!
