can any body help me with the Paths settings


my site xxxxx.com and XOOPS is here

xxxx.com/xoops


now what is XOOPS documents root physical path


also XOOPS datafiles directory

and XOOPS library directory

Most times XOOPS is installed in the webroot. You have placed it in the subdirectory xoops, but that is also fine and no problem.
The webroot is the internal directory path which is aligned with xxxx.com/ , such as eg home/youraccount/www .
The root path for XOOPS is the internal path of the directory where XOOPS is installed, so: home/youraccount/www/xoops . This path (XOOPS_ROOT_PATH) is normally correctly set by the install procedure in the mainfile.php . Aligned with this is the definition of XOOPS_URL, in this case http://xxxx.com/xoops .

The xoops_data and xoops_lib directorys has to be placed outside the webroot, that is in a directory branch that splits off before the www (as in our case).

So you place them directly into the youraccount directory:
home/youraccount/xoops_data
home/youraccount/xoops_lib
or
home/youraccount/xoops/xoops_data
home/youraccount/xoops/xoops_lib
In this way the files can't be accessed by http://xxxx.com/xxyyzz .
You have to adapt the definitions in mainfile.php to reflect the real situation.
