hello,
I noticed that the XOOPS code is everywhere inserted in a different way.

Problem:
In one area, when I press the xoopscode button then the empty tag is inserted at the end of the text.
In another area, when I press the button, then above the ADD button a text appears, later I have to put what I want formatter into the ADD field
Here in this forum I can highlight a text, press a xoopscode button and the highlightet text is framed by a xoopscode. At the same time the cursor jumps to the top.

In any case the behaviour of those xoopsbuttons is not the same through modules.

Its probably javascript, but where to find the respective code?

It should actually be:
You highlight the text,
press a xoopscode button,
the coopscode is put around the text,
the remaining text plus new xoopscode remains highlighted,
the cursor stays at the place where the new xoopscode was inserted.

It's because different modules are developed by different developers, and they approached the issue from a different angle.

But I agree with you that it would beneficial to have the same behaviors, and I hope, we'll be able to standardize it across modules in the future, as we get closer to XOOPS 3.0.

Hi Mamba,

actually, the code could be universal for all developers to use.

The code putting in the Xoopscode is probably javascript language.
Why not just have an include PHP file that takes care of putting in always the same buttons and the script coming with it?
That would be easiest.

Later you tell developers....
"if you need a text field, here is the file to include"

If Xoopscode works nicely you can also kick out that disturbing "Add" button cum INPUT form.
