Hi xoopsers!

I´m releasing a special version of 'my tabs' compatible with 2.2.x only.

Do NOT use this version on 2.3 or 2.0.x

You can download it at

Even labeled as not stable, XOOPS 2.2 version is used for it's very practical features. Your module is much appreciated.

xoops 2.2.x has much power under it. I believe much of it will be added to 2.3.x. I do not know why it has been deprecated. It has page awareness, extensible profiles, global scope themes (admin area). Everything we are now fighting for to add again.

Any one knows?

Well, sorry for this offtopic message but I wandered about the way things are going forward.
Is more efficient to step back to 2.0 and than try to gain back the great features of 2.2 branch, or to work on 2.2 stability? BTW, for me 2.2 is stable enough, and I never noticed any lack of stability (but I must tell that I am not a php guru so...). But now I am 2.2 addicted and I cannot imagine XOOPS without 2.2 features. I'm looking forward for a smooth and complete upgrade.

The 2.2 was deprecated due to its incompatibility with 2.0 at architecture level and not clean enough design/coding.
However the 2.2 has been a very good experimental series in terms of rich features and will be providing solid preparation for the coming 3.0

It has been a pain for us to stay on multiple branches and we have learned a lot from history.

Thank you trabis for this fine module being ported to 2.2.x

For me it's not a question of which branche to use - 2.2.x was always the favorite

Your Mytabs + yogurt (easily hacked for 2.2.x) complete my list of 2.2.x compibility

Extgal is easy to hack for 2.2 compatibility too.

Back on topic now, I've installed and tested it. Great module, no problem for now. With some polished css, could provide some great menus too.

Main problem of XOOPS 2.2.x is using xoopsTpl and some new modules are using xoTheme but it is very simple to solve this. Mytabs was very dificult because there is a diferent dabatase structure for blocks and that is what mytabs is all about. I was about to give up but found my solution in the update script of XOOPS 2.3 so, thank you very much phppp for this! Added an extra class for emulate XOOPS 2.0.x and that was it.

Finally it works even better in XOOPS 2.2 because it allows to edit custom blocks content directly from mytabs!

Thank you soo much for taking the time to make this mod work with 2.2,

I seem to be having problems making it work with my site. I am able to set up the block and ad tabs but none of the tabs show in the block. Just the block with no tabs or information.

Any ideas. I have selected easy blocks like menue and custome to just test it and still nothing.

Any help would be appreciated.
