Center block, how do i do it bigger?

Hi everyone! i have been modifying lots of things of my theme, but i stil can't find the way to make the center block wider, of about 500px or 600px... i explicitly enter values in td#centercolumn, and nothing...
Also i tried making the rightcolumn smaller, but i can't either...
Anyone can help me??
thanks a lot in advance!!

I suppose this is a fixed size theme. Then you need to set the size for the theme in it's css. Just take the width of the left and right blocks + 500 or 600 px and set the new size of the theme.

Hi!
thanks very much for your replies, and sorry for the delay...
I dont remember the name of the theme, but i have modified it pretty much.
I'll try rezising as you tell me... but i don't understand what you tell me about 'setting the new size of the theme'...? which parameter in the .css do i have to modify, then? just the left and right blocks?

Re: Center block, how do i do it bigger?

hi!
i have fixed my problem... actually, when i wasn't able to make bigger the center block, it was because i had a lot of blocks in the right block. I tried emptying it, and could resize the center block by giving values to the rightcolumn in the style.css.
Thanks very much!
