Hi,

Installed CForge
on XOOPS 2.0.18 - and all the pages are blank..

Looking at these posts, it seems that the mod should work on an earlier XOOPS version - be it in a not so safe way..

Any idea which XOOPS version that might be?

Hey..

Does anyone have a bit of a clue how CForge is working?

Which XOOPS version?

Anything special in the installation?

I have tried to install in a few of the older XOOPS versions (2.0.13, 2.0.15, 2.0.16, 2.0.17) - but no joy..

Thanks!

Cforge works with globals on, if you turn globals on you will face security risks. If you really want to use cforge then use protector module with it so you can feel 'safe'.
You also may took a look for xoopsforge module.

The re-launched dev forge runs one of these modules. I assume it has been patched, but it is not available for download AFAIK.

Until a fully secure version is made available, I would stay well away from CForge, XFMod or XoopsForge.

Thanks Peekay and trabis!

Yes, I know there's a security issue with cforge - but I dont mind it in the near future.

Did give XoopsForge a go, but it didn't work.. It seems to be last updated in 2002, so maybe it needs an ultra old XOOPS version..(?)

Well.. I'll go and turn the htaccess globals on, hope it will do the trick..

OK..

I have now installed CForge on my modules directory in a XOOPS 2.0.18.1 installation + the globals are on..

Not much joy though.. For example, if I want to strat a new project:
* I get the " Start A New Project " page.
then
* the " Services and Requirements " page.
then
* " Terms of Service Agreement "
Once I agree on the terms - I get a blank page.. Not very helpful, is it..?

Hummm... I wonder if I missed something in the installation.. There isnt a read me file, so I guess theres a lot of hit and miss..

Appreciate any possible insight into this..

Thanks!

I could never get it to work properly, with or without globals. My guess is it makes calls on functions that once existed in Xoops, but are no longer used.

It really needs to be tested in 2.0.7 or perhaps 2.0.9.2, which were current at the time of XFMod.

there are other bugs like the one you mentioned. I had a time on that some months ago and fixed somethings. I noticed the module is unfinished, they start migrating it for XOOPS new versions but never finished it.

hummm.. i see.. its a shame though that the module that works pretty well on dev.xoops.org isn't avaliable to download - isn't it?

Oh yes, it´s a shame, altough I believe that the version used in dev forge is unsecure to share.

But it is not the first time I think about it:
Why should we share modules if xoops.org does not?
