Xoops + Windows Vista? any issues

i have a member using Windows Vista
since the site was reinstaled (because of a disc failure by the host company)
he has not been able to LOG INTO the site using hte computer running Vista
he can however log in and use accounts with other platforms on other computers.

So the problem must be his VISTA i suppose but.....

has there been any reported issues concerning XOOPS 2.17 + along with Windows Vista?

It is not because of Vista itself I guess. There must be some programs (Antivirus software etc.) running on Vista that prevent a user from logging in.

I've come here via Vista for 1 year without any problem.

same thing i thought and suggested to him AVT
he says he turned off his McGafee whatever-ma-callit
but we all know that program well enough to know that OFF doesnt mean OFF
i hate that thing

much less im not appreciating VISTA too much yet either

All I know is that I have stayed away from all versions higher then 2.16 because of the login problems. 2.16 works fine for all my members, 2.17 and 2.18 are a disaster in that perspective unfortunately. So it is my guess you have to search in that direction...

I had this problem myself last night after I altered (increased)IE7's security settings.

Get you user to return IE7's security back to the default settings.
