Hi

I'm having big trouble with theme changer and it seems to be related to the zetagenesis theme.

Here's what happens:

If I use Themechanger (v 2.6) with other themes all is OK (but zetagenesis is one I want to use) But If I try to have ZG as one of themes all gets strange:

1) If I give a module the ZG theme the page does not display properly (the is as follows
DOCTYPE html PUBLIC '-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN' 'http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd'>
<
html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en">
<
head>

head>
)

2. If I make the homepage ZG (all other pages are default theme) the hompeage just displays as default also

3. But if I make the homepage default and all other pages ZG then I get a blank homepage and all other pages don't display properly because they also have the above incomplete .

I cannot figure it at all. If I don't try to use ZG, then themechanger works fine. If I don't use themechanger then the ZG theme works fine across my site.

I've tried updating, reinstalling, reuploading

I'm on 2.0.18.1 with PHP 5

Can anyone help me? I'm going crazy!!!

I see on this post

https://xoops.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=63792&forum=27&post_id=287561#forumpost287561

that zetagenesis may not work with themechanger because it uses morpho code

First question, what's morpho code? second question is there any way to get around this, to take out the morpho parts of the ZG theme so that it may well look a little different but perhaps still look good and will work with themechanger

Hey Jim

-----

In a nut shell its not the themes that have the problem. Imho its the "module" not understanding all the new "smarty code" in the themes. Some morpho based themes still seem to work with the module.

I still have not nailed down what the offending piece of code is. I am sure its real simple and not that big of a deal to fix. The question is which piece of the code is it???

On the brighter side...

The Dev Trabis is working on something like this module with all kinds of new goodies. I have no idea about a release date but he is aware of the conflict between the new themes and the module.

Maybe he will stop by this thread with an update of his progress...

Hi, script_fu, the module is more about friendly urls than theme changer so I did not look into the themes yet. Anyway it may take a while, I mean weeks, months, never, so I´ll try to find what´s wrong ok and if I have sucess I´ll release a fixed theme _changer.

BigJim,

I used coded at this site:
http://xoops-tips.com/news-article.storyid-89-page-0.htm
to switch theme, I have not try it with zetagenesis, worth giving it a go.

Demo:

fix width=> http://www.ucchau.net
variable width=> http://www.ucchau.net/modules/newbb

Hum , that code is pretty like the theme_changer code so, my guess is that it won´t work

Re: theme changer and zetagenesis seem to be conflicting

Whats interesting to me is that people really use this to change to different themes per module and page. I find that confuses most people.

You see I could care less if it shows different themes. The most important part about this module is the SEO you can achieve with it. Meaning Title Tags, Description & Keywords.

This is where the module really shines...

I always use the same theme site wide. That way no visitors get confused.
