Weird login redirect problem

When I login to my XOOPS site it shows the ‘thank you’ splash screen and then redirects me to a random page in my site. Clearing out the cache stops it happening for a while, but it comes back later.

Does anyone know how to stop this? It is like the session gets mixed up or something. I tried to turn off regenerate session ID but that kills my site.

I am stuck now, does anyone know what could be wrong?
First noticed this in XOOPS 2.0.18

do you have any .htaccess file set up ?

From memory, I set up .htaccess a couple of years ago. But never have any problem with that. Why would it intefere with login?

If it were sessions related you could empty the sessions table (not delete!) in the database.

Not saying thats the cause ...
