Could someone please give me an idea of when this will be implemented in the core? I am not interested in SmartBlocks.

Thanks for the reply. This is not the core, though, and that's what I asked about. Modules come and go. Remember SmartBlocks? It's not supported, and nobody knows how to use it. I'm beginning to think that the current developers just don't think it is important.

Still, I was wondering why I didn't know about the module you mentioned, so I did a search, and, except for this thread, I couldn't find any mention of it. Can you refer me to where it is discussed?

Although there are a couple of modules that can help do this, It seems like it should be part of the core.
Like jfmoore said modules do come and go, and sometimes stop working right, and if the module is not being developed, then the users of that module are stuck.

Are there any plans to add this to the core?

John,
I don't know about plans, but I've added it to SourceForge "Feature requests"
Support XOOPS => DONATE
Use 2.5.10 | Docs | Modules | Bugs

I was able to find the module. I wonder, though, since it is not well known, if anyone is actually using it and if there are any issues?

Also, if you use a module like this to clone blocks, and then cloning is later included in the core, what happens to blocks cloned with the module? Must they be redone, or what?

Block-like content evolution has been considered at core level since very long time ago.

We need find a careful and thorough mechanism.
According to my knowledge, we have some resources already available, including but not limited to
GIJOE's, XoopsMexico's, Wenmingpig/agl (from China)

If you have other ideas, please submit to sourceforge tracker or contact me at: phppp @ users.sourceforge.net

Are you saying, then, to stay away from module based solutions?
