HELP!!!!!!!

As it was suggested I just attempted to upgrade my version of Xoops. I followed the instructions:

Upgrade to XOOPS 2.2.x From 2.0.x

-----------------------------------------------------------

Enable PHP debug
Go to your administration area => system module => preferences => general settings and enable PHP debug
Run pre-upgrade script
After uploading all files in the patch archive, access http://www.example.com/xoopsupdate.php, replacing http://www.example.com with your site's URL. This will show error messages and no real content, but don't worry, just proceed to next step

Reload the page
Press the submit button to update the system

Now my clients site has dissapeared all that is viewable is the header and the rotating banners...

there is no log in... no main menu... it is as there is nothing (No Modules) on the site at all...

When I try to force my way into the admin area i get the following:

Incorrect Login!
Success
Sorry, no corresponding user info was found.

If the page does not automatically reload, please click here
it then jumps back to the header and banner!!

If I ask it to resend my password.... I get:

Incorrect Login!
Success
Sorry, no corresponding user info was found.

If the page does not automatically reload, please click here

HELPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!

currently what version of XOOPS you are using and what is the version of the XOOPS that you want to use ?

the recommended stable version now is 2.018.1

2.2x is not recommended

the new XOOPS 2.30 that will merge 2.0x & 2.2x is still in alpha mode and is not recommended to be use in live site

The version that was running on the site was 2.0.5

I attempted to do the upgrade that was in this zip file:

2.013.1 upgrade to 2.2.3a-Final

if you want to upgrade to 2.2x from 2.0132

if i'm not mistaken you should suppose first upgrade the 2.05 to 2.0132...then after only that you can use the upgrade script 2.0132 to 2.2...

i hope you have made backup before upgrading

Man what a mess...

Roll back what you did to your backup copy...

You do have a back up?

Leave 2.2.x alone!

Only use 2.0.x versions...

It never ends.

Post up where you are at in this mess...

We can get you sorted!

I have uploaded my backup.... all of the sites original folders and files.... under the XOOPS main folder

I am now getting nothing: take a look http://www.vmoa.net when you see the splash page just click on the logo....

If I try the actual URL of the Admin section I get:
Sorry you don't have permission........

What file do I need to hack in order to get back into my site?

How can I force my log into the admin section so I can turn stuff back on? If that is what I need to do..... ARGH!!!!

Try to follow some of these suggestions here:

What about the original database? (Do you have database backup? - you mention only files and folders)

If I'm not mistaken, the upgrade to 2.2 will change the database structure too ...

Thank you for that pointer.... As instructed in the FAQ was able to activate the recovery.php and log in to the site admin.....

I can see the entire admin "back end" all of the modules are visible....

However... (there seems to always be a however). When I click on the system admin icon iget the normal links:

Site Preferences
General Settings [Edit]
Meta Tags and Footer [Edit]
Word Censoring Options [Edit]
Search Options [Edit]
Mail Setup [Edit]

when I click on the general settings edit link I get :

Preferences Main »» General Settings

General Settings

I used to see all of the general settings here now there is only a table with a go button

I would be happy to communicate privately with any of you guru's and I would be happy to give you the log in username & password.... I must get this site back... as much as possible.
