Good morning!

I'm running XC Gal 2.03 and I'm very satisfied with it.
Recently I deleted some albums because I used too much webspace.

So far so good.
Only thing is that the block Static Miniatures does not "understand" that certain albums have been deleted.
It keeps trying to display small miniatures of albums that don't exist, with a 'red cross' as result.
Cache is set as 'no'cache'.

Anyone have a clue??

Thx in advance and greetings,

Not me...... never deleted an album. I've only deleted individual pictures.

I'm wondering if deleting the albums doesn't delete the database references to the pictures. Did you delete the pictures in the albums before deleting the albums themselves?

Have a look at the contents of your database to see if the albums have been deleted in "yourprefix_xcgal_albums" and that the pictures have been deleted in "yourprefix_xcgal_pictures".

HTH

Hi Ronaldus

Did you try to empty the content of your templates_c and cache folders?

Regards

I had this issue before. John is correct. When you manually delete album files from your server XCgal does not know this since it is reading the database which says there is an album. When deleting albums you should use the XCgal delete tool. That will also delete the files from your server.

Now you need to access phpmyadmin (or which ever method is available). Click the xcgal_albums table then click browse from the menu bar then select the albums you deleted and delete them.

Thx guys, that did the trick.
I did delete the categories I wanted to delete via/through the admin area, and I assumed it would delete all albums that the categories contained.
This is apparently not the case.
I see no way to delete seperate albums through admin area (did I miss something??) so the database "operation" helped me out.

Thanks for your help and greetings,

[Edit]
Ah, now I see: you have to delete albums through the admin modus on the webpages themselves !!!
I'll try this when I clean up my albums next year !!
