I don't know why but the private message is often overlooked by members. and they don't get read at all.

is there anyway to make a "javascript window prompt" when a user receives a msg in their inbox when they login to the site?

The easy way? Just download a theme with the inbox code already in it. Jack the code and put it into your theme.

Getting it to pop up is not a good idea. Most people block pop up and dont even know they are doing it.

Will posted a fix for his hazard theme the other day. It has what you need built into it.

The link above is the fix for his theme and XOOPS 2.0.18
Just go to his site and download it. Then jack the code.

just to share something.

i modified the xoops.css file
for the usermenu inbox highlight.
i changed into this

#usermenu a.highlight {color: #000000; background-color: #41ef37; font-size:30px; text-decoration: blink;}

it gives a large font and blinks the inbox text on the usermenu to get the user's attention.
