koivi editor - Image Manager not inserting image

Hi All

I am using XOOPS 2.2.4 (upgraded from 2.2.3), and it comes with the koivi editor.

I am able to use koivi editor in my News and SmartSection modules, but there is a problem with inserting image.

When I click on the 'MANAGER' (Xoops Image Manager), the Image Manager window pops up and I am able to upload an image. But when I click on one of the alignment icons under Align to attach image into my article, the image does not get inserted. I have to close the Image Manager window, and click on MANAGER again and then go to the image and click on one of the alignment icons in order to insert the image. That is, when you upload a new image, you cannot insert it at first, you have to get out and get into the Image Manager again to do the insertion.

Image Manager doesn't work this way when I am not using koivi.

Another problem, when I have more than 1 page of images in Image Manager, images in pages other than the 1st page cannot be inserted at all!

I wonder in koivi is compatible with XOOPS 2.2.x at all!

Can anybody help?

Thank you.

Re: koivi editor - Image Manager not inserting image

maybe your browser doesn't support it, what browser are you using, and also has it worked in the previous version?

Re: koivi editor - Image Manager not inserting image

Hi Tailzehhhh

Thank you for the reply.

I tried it with both Firefox and IE and got the same problems.

I only used koivi editor with XOOPS 2.2.4 (upgraded from 2.2.3a). Didn't use it with 2.0.1.3.

Are you able to get to work with XOOPS 2.2.x ?

Thank you.

Re: koivi editor - Image Manager not inserting image

This is a known issue of the koivi editor. Sometimes you're able to insert images, sometimes not.
I've tried to replace the XOOPS (2.2.4) imagemanager by MyAlbum-P but didn't work at all.

Re: koivi editor - Image Manager not inserting image

Dear McDonald

Thank you for the reply.

I've given up on Koivi and am now using FCKeditor for my News module. I'm not able to integrate FCKeditor with SmartSection though.

The downside to using FCKeditor is that it doesn't use the XOOPS Image Manager. It has its own image manager and doesn't seem to have limits for file upload size and other permissions.

Regards

Re: koivi editor - Image Manager not inserting image

I have almost the same problem. I can insert an image only from the first page, but when I select an image from the second or third page it doesn't apear.

Re: koivi editor - Image Manager not inserting image

You have to replace the file system_imagemanager.html in modules/system/templates.
This file you will find at the KOIVI-Homepage, but it is only included in the 2.0.13 version of the editor.

http://dev.xoops.org/modules/xfmod/pr ... owfiles.php?group_id=1038

After updating the system module in the administration menu you will find a new icon in the imagemanager, use this icon to insert images, not the alignement icons.

Hope this will help

x.d.o is still down and I need for this to work. Is there any place else I can get the patch above? Or, is there a fixed version somewhere besides x.d.o? Man, x.d.o being down is KILLING US!

Maybe you can find what you are looking for in the web archives.

This seems to be another good source.

Re: koivi editor - Image Manager not inserting image

If you are not already using extGallery for something else, then you can install it and use the hook hack to embed photo thumbs in your articles using Smarty tags. You might be able to use that at least until you get the Koivi problem sorted out.

Here's a thread which talks about it. I shortened the URL:

edit: May not work with 2.2.x. I'll take a look and see.
