Suggest you start with:

* 8 module building tutorials by Kaotik (part 1 here, see the last page for links to next part / rest)

* Search for the module building tutorial by The Cat (its a PDF download, I don't have the link handy)

* XOOPS API (bit old and not very clear)

Kaotik's tutorials are the easiest way to get started.

Adding questions here:

I have a localhost with EasyPhp and PHPEditor.

Beside having a brain, what other tools do you (Module developer) advise me to use?

Is there any team developing a translation module like lang-tools? Other than XOOPS mx total?

I think xoops´ "owners" should bet on educating and motivating users for module/blocks/theme development.

I don't mean selling books, I mean sharing Knowledge.

Ah, yes! What about CVS? Can you breafly explain me how can I use it? Do I have to have an acount on sourceforge or ss there a program I can download and use on my PC/windowsXp?

Forgieve my ignorance,
Thank you!

Viva Trabis,

Humm...

Eclipse, but you will have to choose from two options.
(Eclipse PHP IDE by Zen doesn't mean it's best than PHPEclipse)
Example project migration, Drupal, by IBM
You will also need, J2SE
Eclipse Web Tools Platform Project (WTP) 1.0.x
It includes both, Web Standard Tools (WST) and J2EE Standard Tools (JST)
But you don't need all that. Only Web Standard Tools (WST) is really required.
Tortoise CVS, Tortoise SVN (OS 64)
Xoopserver by Mikhail. Apache, mysql, php and all from usb.
Or any amp, Vertrigo, Xampp, Easyphp, usb webserver
Winmerge, Firefox + some extentions.

Tools are not enough! You will need some books about php & MySQL 5, Object-Oriented programing, design patterns, User Interface Design, Usability, Human Factors, & Ergonomics, if you expect to share your code and make it accessible and usefull to others

Ao principio Eclipse pode parecer complicado,
mas logo se adapta sem grandes problemas
Exemplo de configuração para XOOPS Cube por
Minahito
semelhante a configuração para Xoops2.
