Hello, I recently moved to a dedicated server, and someone started sending spam from it, so I had to avoid the sent of mails from nobody@domain, the thing is that after doing this, the tell a friend module doesn't work, and I receive a mail saying something like:
Mail sent by user nobody being discarded due to sender restrictions in WHM->Tweak Settings
Hoy can I send this mail from another account that it is not nobody from the script? Maybe a hack or something to configure?

Thanks a lot in advance

the module doesn't send as nobody@... if that were the case you could just sift through the module til you found that reference.

I think that you are only allowing mail from users with registered email accounts. IE. you@yourdomain.com is your email, while you dont have:

anemailaccountforeveryuser@yourdomain.com

Spammers suck...

I assume you are running WHM/Cpanel 11 and you have already converted your Mail.

If not

cpup --force
/scripts/convert2maildir

thanks for the reply! :)

I couldn't convert the mail, it says "cpup: command not found"

And I followed the optimization guide.

But I still can't send mail from it, I have suexec, but I still keep receiving the mail saying Mail sent by user nobody being discarded due to sender restrictions in WHM->Tweak Settings

How can I know or define from what user it has to be sent??

Thanks again in advance

I'm sorry, its

upcp --force

then do a

/scripts/convert2maildir

___your actual question answered below___
If you log into whm under "Server Configuration" click tweak settings.

Scroll down to this option

"Prevent the user "nobody" from sending out mail to remote addresses (PHP and CGI scripts generally run as nobody if you are not using PHPSuexec and Suexec respectively.)"

Untick it.

0k Thanks again

I just wanted to know if there was some way to do it without unticking that option, as I had a spammer, and with the tick on that option, I still received mails from the admin part when a user registered to the site.

thanks again :)

thats the thing, php may default to "nobody" but suexec should be changing that to your domains default user.

ie youruser@yourdomain.com not nobody.
